67 Steps Beach in Greenport, LI

Max proposed on my 26th birthday back in July, surprising me in Greenport Long Island on what I thought was going to be my birthday weekend filled with friends, celebrations, and tons of wineries. The Friday we got there Max and I planned to have dinner alone before all of our friends got out to Greenport the next day. It was very typical that Max tried to plan 1 or 2 things because I usually like to plan everything and he likes to show some effort. It wasn't weird when he suggested we go to this beautiful 67 steps beach right next to the restaurant we were heading to for dinner. When we got out I told him how much it reminded me of my favorite beach in the south of France I grew up going to, and we had visited the summer prior. He took some outfit photos for me, and I asked him to make sure this random little tent on the beach wasn't in the shots. He suggested we walk down there for a better photo and as we walked a little past the tent he got down on one knee and told me how much he loved me and couldn't wait to start officially being a family, I blacked out and don't remember everything he said after that. I was shocked and so happy and completely surprised. He had given me diamond earrings in the morning as a birthday present which really threw me off the scent of a proposal. After I said yes, Max told me our good friends Christine and Charlie were actually in the tent taking photos of us, I screamed in disbelief. They came out with champagne and gifts and huge smiles and it really was the perfect proposal. They drove us to dinner afterwards and dropped us off at the gorgeous Soundview Hotel where the Halyard restuarant had amazing celebration food. We took that dinner to soak it all in and not tell our family or friends yet until after. It was amazing that the next day a few of our friends were coming out to drink wine and celebrate my birthday and what was now the weekend I got engaged!

Fast forward 3 months, we are slowly planning our April wedding. I wanted to get some nice photos for our wedding website before sending out save the dates and also introduce Max to my photographer of choice for the wedding. We used the incredible Melissa Cave as our photographer for our engagement photos and will be using her for our wedding. We are excited about how the photos came out, we did an NYC based shoot involving a taxi cab because that's where our first kiss happened to take place. We also both golf for fun and thought it would be great to take some less serious shots in our golf gear. We love how they came out and can't wait to get married.
