Chanel 21/22 Metiers D’Art Show

Today Chanel released their latest fashion show virtually on their site. In the first few moments I immediately noticed the wide leg trousers, hats, bob haircuts winged eyeliner, and a slight school girl style with loose silk bows in the models hair. It felt pretty classic Chanel with hints of modern day style smattered throughout. It wouldn’t be a Chanel show without tweed being abundant, and another thing that was very consistent was their long layered necklaces that have been around since before my time (to me I remember it since middle school).

Some newer trends to note: doubling up on bags, I was told in the Chanel store a few months ago that it has become increasingly popular to pair up mini bags with larger ones and carry them together. Another trend I noticed was carrying make up trundle bags as bags, I first saw this with Dior and now on today’s runway at Chanel. Lastly, there was a lot of sheer dressing, from skirts to tops and dresses, sheer was prominent.

My favorite styles were towards the end during the black and white section (I’m a sucker for neutral classics that will last forever). I loved the white button down looks and the mid length coats. I also really loved all the chunky cardigans and knitwear. Lastly something I noticed on a few models were unitards under coats which I feel like really incorporates athleisure while looking stylish which I absolutely adore.

Overall a very feminine collection, there was a nice color coordination throughout the show ranging first from colorful, to denim, to maroon, then to black and white. Bravo!
