NYC Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2024: Sleepless Nights, Art Days, and Delicious Bites

New York Fashion Week never disappoints on the hustle factor, and this Fall/Winter 2024 season was no exception! While the lack of sleep might be real (seriously, "get some sleep" should've been a show theme!), the energy, creativity, and overall experience were phenomenal.

This year, Chelsea emerged as the main stomping ground for shows, a welcome change from the usual Spring Studios location. This shift turned out to be a happy accident, allowing me to squeeze in visits to some fantastic art galleries in between fashion presentations. My personal highlights were the thought-provoking exhibits at David Zwirner and the mesmerizing pieces at the Gagosian.

Speaking of highlights, two shows absolutely stole the spotlight for me: "get some sleep" and L7. Both offered distinct aesthetics – "get some sleep" with its dreamlike, ethereal vibes, and L7 with its bold, unapologetic edge. It's this incredible variety that makes NYFW so inspiring.

Of course, fueling all this fashion frenzy requires good food! This trip, I indulged in some old favorites – the ever-reliable Sushi Seki – and discovered some new gems. "Bibliotheque" became my go-to coffee haven, offering a cozy and stylish atmosphere perfect for catching up between shows. "Fouquet's" brunch in Tribeca was another delightful find, a luxurious way to refuel before diving back into the fashion whirlwind.

For a unique experience, I checked out the pop-up collaboration between Valentino and Sartiano’s in Soho’s Mercer Hotel. The juxtaposition of their styles was fascinating, and the space itself buzzed with creative energy.

Another discovery was an exhibition on Philip Lim – the exhibit south of Canal Street showcasing iconic suits throughout the years was a sartorial treat. And while I was hotel hunting, "Nine Orchard" caught my eye with its traditional, yet modern design.

Finally, no trip to NYC during Chinese New Year would be complete without a nod to the festivities. Longshi's show, featuring the absolute cutest models I saw all week, perfectly captured the spirit of the occasion. Indonesia Now also deserves a shoutout for showcasing stunning, culturally rich designs.

Overall, NYFW Fall/Winter 2024 was a whirlwind of fashion, art, food, and new discoveries. Exhausted but exhilarated, I can't wait to see what the next season brings!
