NYFW S/S 24

NYFW ss24 was the best one I’ve attended yet. The city was fully alive and not a mention of covid overheard - things felt like they were in the highest gear since pre-pandemic. I attended many pop ups, an exhibition with after party, 2 presentations and 2 runway shows - lots of celeb sitings and the US Open in between.

Biggest trends I’ve gathered: sheer in all forms, large tops with small bottoms and vice versa, the row and quiet luxury. Personal style is also back via jenna lyons a la RHONY. I have a lot of thoughts on what taste is and find that what’s feeling of the moment is having classic/timeless staples and balancing them with your own personal style - not looking like you came out of an everlane catalogue but also not looking like you’re buying into fast fashions and super trends.

Check out my favorite moments below along with some information on each event:

Tezza Pop Up at Iconic Mag

one of my favorite influencers (@tezza.barton) and my favorite app for editing photos (@tezza) did a pop up for their launch of a new magazine to kick off FW on Thursday - I was able to grab a copy the next day and the content did not disappoint. So many beautiful creatives are featured and I highly recommend grabbing a copy for your coffee table, great inspiration for all kinds of artists.

Mimichik Pop Up

the clothing and accessories at this pop up were along the lines of timeless staples with a creative twist - this LA brand has a cult following and it was great to check them out in person.

Rimowa exhibition + after party

Martha Stewart, Justin Theroux and many more were there the night I was for the opening party which was very fun to see. Rimowa took over the Chelsea factory to celebrate the history of the rimowa bag - see images below of the different designs. This was my first party event I’ve attended during NYFW - there was a special guest performer and the energy was really great.

Chanel Diner Pop up

You may have seen all of your favorite bloggers attend this diner pop up on Wednesday - and then the following days there were lines around the block to get in here. I was lucky enough to pop by before they opened and take a look - love that Chanel took over a classic old time-y diner to share their new fragrance collections.

Chan Chit Lo Presentation

This was my first presentation that featured a performance. The designer recently had a baby (very relatable for me) and this collection was her interpretation of the transformation that happens as a family grows. The performance was beautiful and the clothes were extremely interesting as well - I loved the cargo pants and jacket featured below most.

Tala Barbotin Khalidy Presentation

This presentation was different than most I’ve seen - the designer’s main focus is to reintroduce lebanese and syrian cultures through the lens of culture and craft which was well achieved through imagery, music and models standing by imports from the countries that they are proud of.

Indonesia Now Show

I loved this show, there were 7 designers showcasing their collections, all hailing from Indonesia and all very versatile and different from each other. The crowd was almost as interesting as the designs.

Bruce Glen Show

This was the first show I ever sat front row for, there was also a beautiful live performance as models walked down the runway. There were what felt like almost 100 looks which is extremely impressive. I loved all the color and silk fabrics in this show.
