NYFW F/W 2023

This was my third NYFW and most likely my most quiet one considering I am currently 31 weeks pregnant, I attended only 1 show in person - the one that fit my schedule which was Snow Xue Gao. I was in NYC for a few other activations as well as to celebrate superbowl with friends. I did want to write about the key takeaways I felt from this seasons shows that I recapped virtually.

The classic wardrobe is what everyone is focusing on lately, Khaite in particular but a lot of the shows had the theme of forever staples running throughout. We saw a goodbye to spring place as the main destination for NYFW (similar to Bryant Park before it) - this led to more personality from designers in their venues. Jason Wu’s show was very theatrical and left a big impact. There were a lot of bananas everywhere, and whimsical bags like the ones seen at Coach. The color that kept coming up was red, seen at Carolina Herrera, Proenza Schouler, Tory Burch, Simkhai, Gabriela Hearst, Christian Siriano, Sandy Liang, PatBO, Kim Shui and Theory.

Snow Xue Gao trended towards whimsical, even having two small dogs in the clothing at one point with the models at the presentation. A ton of colors and prints felt on trend for spring. I did notice that most of the shows have begun to incorporate all season dressing, we’ve departed from strictly spring/summer and winter/fall for each show. See some highlights from the show below!
