Miami

Miami was the first place my parents ever took me on vacation (I wasn’t even one the first time I went). I’ve been coming to Miami ever since, almost once a year, if not more now that my mom has moved down here full time. Every time I come back I always find something new, I really feel like it’s NYC on the beach. Below you’ll find some of my all time favorites - I’m always adding to this list!

Activities

  • Perez art museum in downtown Miami is a massive collection of modern art set on the water

  • Wynwood – the mecca of graffiti wall art

  • Rent a boat and have a day on the water

  • Bowling/Ice Skating in the downstairs of the edition hotel – one of a kind

  • The Bass museum in mid beach - smaller museum but rarely disappoints

  • Renting bikes/citi biking around south beach

  • Moore building in design district – unbelievable art gallery and just interior architecture in general

  • Visit soho house or Faena for drinks and food service on the beach

Shopping

  • Design District has great luxury shopping

  • Faena Bazaar – across from the faena hotel has unique finds for both home and fashion goods

  • The Webster – my favorite store in NYC but in Miami

  • Lincoln road – touristy but still a classic Miami vibe

  • Bal Harbor Mall – outdoor beautiful mall! Its a little “uptown”, but I grew up going here vibes are great and restaurants too will list below

Restaurants

  • KYU – in Wynwood and SO GOOD – try their 7 course tasting menu

  • 1800Lucky - street fair type food, amazing DJs some nights bar hop around Wynwood and end here

  • Los Fuegos or Pao, inside the Faena hotel (such a beautiful hotel, you need to go just to have drinks)

  • Matador Room, inside the Edition where you can bowl or Ice skate after downstairs

  • Joes Stone Crab – most classic Miami spot $$$

  • Planta – if you want to be healthy, really good vegetarian sushi

  • Makoto – Japanese food, everything is to die for, inside bal harbor mall

  • Cecconis at soho house

  • Kiki on the river – day party scene, amazing for when you don’t feel like having a late night but want the club vibes

  • The Standard Hotel on Lido island for casual dinner/drinks with an amazing waterfront view

  • Amaro at Paraiso - right by design district also amazing for sunset dinner/drinks

  • Swan - the cipriani of Miami, always a fun scene and food is great

  • SKIP Malibu Farm, service is awful and food is not good, it just opened but overhyped
