San Francisco

May 2019 marked the month I went on my first solo business trip! Google Marketing live was held in SF and the company I worked for sent me as our representative. I extended the trip a few days because flights were cheap and I had never properly explored SF before. I was a little nervous traveling by myself but I knew a few other people going to the conference who I saw during my trip and I actually ended up having a great time on my own.

SF is a really cool city. I was able to fit in so much into just 3 days, I scootered everywhere on their convenient e-scooters. I went to the tallest rooftop bar in the city and got to see some great views. I scootered to the beaches with views of the Golden Gate bridge and ate In N Out. I explored Chinatown and ate some great ice cream in Dolores Park. Land’s End was hands down the most beautiful site I visited and the Proper Hotel was my favorite restaurant/drinking scene.

I will say the only issue I had with SF was the homeless situation, I live in NYC so I am no stranger to this but in SF it was on another level. It’s very unfortunately caused by very quick gentrification and overpricing of housing but the people on the streets are a lot more aggressive than what I was used to, which while traveling alone was a little bit scarier. Otherwise I would say SF is a 10/10 in terms of quality of life and things to do, good mixture of nature and city life.
